Dior Sauvage on video, September 2026
Dior Sauvage showed up in 187 short videos in September 2026, more than in August (177), but its share of all beauty video slipped 8% as total volume grew. Creators mostly use it as a reference point in rankings, compliment lists and dupe pitches, and few review it head on. The talk splits between Sauvage Elixir, the new Sauvage Extrait, and a running joke that Sauvage is so common it has become a cliché.

What videos say about Sauvage
Most September videos name Sauvage inside a list. It is an A-tier pick in a tier list, France's entry in a 'best fragrance from every country' video, and #2 and #5 (EDP and Elixir) in one creator's top 10 out of 200 bottles. Jeremy Fragrance opens his 10 fragrances for compliments with it.
The flanker most often named is Sauvage Elixir. One creator layers Elixir with Creed Aventus and says the mix smells better. The new Sauvage Extrait got first impressions after a Dior masterclass (rich, deep, a Vietnamese oud) and a spot on a room-filling list. Sauvage EDT, EDP, Parfum gift sets and Eau Forte also appear. Price talk is about collector bottles, like the $8,200 Elixir two creators rate.

What people like
Where creators praise it, the theme is attention. Sauvage Elixir ranks #4 on a list of men's scents 'women are addicted to', and the new Extrait is called a scent that will 'fill rooms' and get compliments. Performance comes up next: Sauvage Extrait is called worth $205 for quality and longevity, and a Kolkata store picks Sauvage Elixir for projection and lasting power. In the sample, 13 of 50 videos were positive and none were marked sponsored.

What people complain about
The main knock is overexposure. A 'male manipulator fragrance tour' calls Sauvage the 'final boss' and jokes that now nobody can wear it; that clip ran on TikTok and YouTube too. A hot-take video says the Sauvage line got hate for being too popular, and a Spanish reviewer calls the EDT one of the most overworn scents while still liking it. On the product itself, one creator agrees 'the new Sauvage just sucks, way too spicy and way too punchy', and another names Sauvage Eau Forte as Dior's worst.

Alternatives and dupes
Sauvage is usually the scent being duped. Bujairami pitches Final Boss as a Sauvage Elixir dupe, a Philippine seller maps Sauvage EDP to Verylle 'Sauvian', an Indian replica shop sells a ₹750 version against a ₹13,400 original, and a creator visits a Pakistan shop selling a $2 copy. Head to head, the original lost twice: a tier list ranks Bleu de Chanel EDP above it, and a creator shopping for his girlfriend's dad, a Sauvage fan, buys Lattafa Asad as a cheaper middle ground. No sampled video picked a clone over Sauvage on scent alone.

The Syncly Social Index scores brands from 0 to 100 using short-form video on TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. It combines six signals: video share of voice (25%), untagged mentions (20%), momentum (15%), sentiment (15%), high-reach videos (15%) and creator breadth (10%). Each signal is scored relative to the other brands in the same category for the month. Sentiment and untagged figures come from a sample of videos; any claim about a specific video links to that video.
