A perfume dupe is a cheaper fragrance made to smell like a well-known, more expensive one. Dupes come from budget and Middle Eastern fragrance houses, fast-fashion and grocery retailers, and dedicated dupe brands.
On short-form video, dupes are framed around value. Affordable appears in 13% of perfume dupe videos, and vanilla and sweet scents are the most common profiles.
