Glass skin on video, September 2026
What is glass skin?
Glass skin is a K-beauty term for skin that looks very smooth, clear and hydrated, with a reflective glow like a pane of glass. It describes a finish, not a single product. People chase it with layered hydrating skincare, and some recreate it with dewy makeup.
On short-form video in September, glass skin was mostly an ingredient and product story. In our sample of 75 videos, 27% were built around an ingredient such as PDRN, collagen or hyaluronic acid, and 19% were product showcases. Only 13% were step-by-step routines.

What this means for marketers
Medicube is the default glass skin brand
Medicube appears in 1,596 glass skin videos, more than Anua (763) and SKIN1004 (515) combined. Its PDRN line (697), Zero Pore Pad (206) and AGE-R Booster Pro (186) are three of the top six products.
Expect a crowded paid feed
53% of glass skin TikToks carry the sponsored flag (3,450 of 6,483), against 14% for blush. Medicube is a keyword in 713 of those sponsored videos. Organic reach has to compete with a lot of affiliate content.
Lead with the ingredient
Ingredient-led framing is the largest angle in our sample, at 27%. PDRN appears in 1,127 glass skin videos and collagen in 1,269. A Gangnam pharmacist's ingredient guide put it in one line: glass skin needs PDRN (1.2M views).
The phrase is open to anyone
L'Oréal Paris has products named Glass Skin, and its Vietnam PDRN serum ad is the most-viewed glass skin video of the month at 15.1M. NIVEA and Clinique also use the term, so it is not exclusive to K-beauty brands.
Makeup and hair borrow the look
23% of glass skin videos also mention makeup, and 13% of our sample frame it as a makeup base. Another 796 videos mention glass hair, like Medicube's PDRN haircare pitched as glass skin for your hair.
Critics target viral products
Skeptics rarely reject glass skin itself. "Buy or bin" reviewers bin viral serums such as Anua's PDRN serum and COSRX snail mucin, and one creator credits her glass skin to good genetics.
