Liposomal glutathione on video, September 2026
What is liposomal glutathione?
Glutathione is an antioxidant molecule the body makes on its own, built from three amino acids: glutamate, cysteine and glycine. Liposomal glutathione is an oral supplement where the glutathione is wrapped in liposomes, tiny fat-based spheres. Brands use this format to address absorption. Research in people on oral glutathione is limited, and results so far are mixed.
This report covers ingestible glutathione: liquids, sachets, capsules, tablets and gummies. IV drips, injections and topical skincare are excluded. In September, 42% of matching videos said "liposomal". The rest showed capsules, tablets or drink mixes.

What this means for marketers
Small, but gaining share
358 videos in September, 1.53% of wellness video, up 21% in share from August (1.27%). Volume is modest, so a few campaigns can move it.
One brand is the category on TikTok
Cymbiotika is in 47% of glutathione supplement videos and 113 of its posts also say liposomal. A challenger has no other brand with more than 7 videos to beat.
Reach is paid and spread thin
77% of glutathione TikToks are flagged as sponsored (158 of 206), and 62% of all videos stay under 1,000 views. Only 6 passed 100K. Creator volume, not single hits, drives the count.
The pitch is glow first, health second
"Skin" appears in 40% of videos, "antioxidant" in 24%, "gut" in 16% and "detox" in 12%. 14% use brightening or skin-tone words, a sensitive framing brands should handle with care.
Explainers and skeptics share the top
Sourcing and ingredient explainers sit among the most-viewed posts, like a 'check the source' reel at 201K. So do cautious voices: a pharmacist's priority list at 555K ranked glutathione as optional.
What skeptics say
Creators pushing back on the trend, with links to each video.
